You could use the servmon feature and define a custom test that does an snmpget of something like sysobjectid and indicates by return code whether the request failed off. It is pretty simple. You can configure the test to run at a long interval, like weekly or something. An event is generated when status changes. You might end up with a smartset of all things that are SNMP enbabled, and that's probably not good if it is a big network. But check it out. there is a servmon.conf file in /usr/OV/conf.

Generally I have just put a script in cron that dumps a list of nodes and does an snmpget against them and produces a report. The nvUtil command can be used to dump a list of things where 'isSNMPSupported' is true, so you are only checking the things that Netview discovered with SNMP.

[NV-L] Looking for a way to verify SNMP connectivity to all managed        nodes

NV 7.1.4 FP5 on AIX 5.2

I have had discovered and managed devices, which are being ping-polled, lose their SNMP connectivity to NetView.

Unfortunately, NetView doesn't seem to tell me when it loses SNMP connectivity to a device, or if it does, I do not know where to look.

Is there a way I can use NV to globally test SNMP connectivity to all my managed nodes, as opposed to using the GUI Test > Connectivity method for one node at a time?

We will be changing our community strings on all SNMP nodes soon, so a global test could tell me when all devices are up to date with the new community strings.

Thanks
