My netmon expert says there is no theoretical limit but that we don't recommend using very large ones because that means netmon will not pick up any config changes to those devices during that interval. So whatever you set it to is up to you. I doubt you will save very much by turning off the config poll unless you have thousands of those devices.

RE: [NV-L] Configuration polling

Sorry James,

we want to stop (or nearly stop) configuration polling on our APC UPSs. We don't see any need for this.

Thanks,

I hate answering questions like this without knowing what you are trying to do and why. There's always the possibility someone will take my remarks out of context and shoot themselves in the foot.

There is no published limit. You could set it for 365 d(ays) for once a year for example. I'm not sure what netmon would do with a value bigger than that. The real question is why do you want to do this?

[NV-L] Configuration polling

Hello,

We are running NV 7.15 FP1 on AIX and wanted to know what is the maximum amount of time we can set for the configuration poll. I did search online manuals.

Thank you,
