1. By design, firewalls block ping and SNMP. Most firewalls have
mechanisms for opening this up - use discretion - only permit ping and
SNMP from and to your network management station to the specific nodes
you want to manage. We have done this on our TIS Gauntlet firewall.
2. I'm not an NT expert, but I believe you can do "ALT-Print Screen" on
an active window which will "cut" the screen image, then you can "paste"
the screen image into an application of your choice.
