There is an open APAR for this problem, IX84716. Dispsub is only
supposed to open the first submap it finds, but it usually opens all
of them.

Cordially,

Hi Vladimir,

I have the same Problem with multiple open Submaps with
TEC-Event...NetView Submap..." option.
With a "normal" Node (one Interface) works it fine, but Routers the
dispsub-Funktion create multiple
Submaps.

regards
Uwe

RE: Event...NetView Submap... option within T/EC

Hello, Joe;

>From my experience if the TEC event does not have an emty or <none>
hostname
slot, then the submap
opened is the segment level submap of the open map with the node
highlighted
(according to the trap
varbind 1). This works fine for me and only one submap of the map
specified
gets opened.
If the slot is empty, for instance in OV_Network_Critical event, then
there
is no requested_object
in the trap sent from TEC to NV as you can see in trapd.log. The trap is
.1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.3 6
56179073 and is logged only. In this case I have seen that the node level
submap and the segment
level submap for my NV server are being opened.

Maybe James S. will shed more light on this issue.

HTH,
Best regards,
Vladimir.
