Hello!
Thanks for your answer for "sfevents" question, but I still have a
little bit confuse about sfnevet daemon, actually, I faced the
"sfevents" daemon not running after started netview GUI -->
nv6000, when all netview windows pop-up, then I checked
the "sfevents" daemon still not running, pls advise me, how
to restart the sfevents daemon after excuted "nv6000", or
I just can leave it alone, don't care it, which will come up
for a while, by the way, could you also tell me what purpose
of "sfevents" daemon running? if we ignore it, have any concern?

The sfevents daemon starts automatically when you start the Netview GUI. If
no GUI ist started you didn't receive events from the 2220.
To see CMIP-events in your Control Desk you must acitvate the eventfilter
in the file /usr/OV/filters/Nways/EMS_Filters.
==> Control Desk - Options - Filter Control

Thanks for your kindly reply for my inquiry of "sfevents daemon did not
running",
Yes, I have two sets of 2220 installed , I used NetView V5.0 and NBBS
V1.7.1 to
monitor the 2220 network, you mentioned about that daemon getting
start with
NetView GUI, and getting event from 2220, if it did not run, which meant
2220
not receive any 2220 event? am I right? If I'm wrong, pls tell me how to
start
the "sfevents" daemon after start NetView GUI interface. or I just leave
it alone,
don't care it, once the 2220 receive the network event, then the
sfevents daemon
will start automatically!
By the way, I have an another question about NetView's control desk
"CMIP" event message, why it just show blank always? no any 2220 CMIP
event show up in control desk? is that a normal condition? or I need to
enable some NetView/NBBS function to start the event collection?
does it also related into sfevents daemon?
Hope somebody can give me advise, thanks!

This is normal. The daemon sfevents starts together with the Netview GUI.
Its the daemon for getting events from the 2220. So you get only events
from the 2220 when the Netview GUI ist started.

If I am not mistaken I believe the sfevents is a daemon for your NBBS. Did
you upgrade from a pervious version of NetView? Do you have 2220s in your
network? The NBBS is used to manage them. If I am correct, depending on
what version of NBBS you are running it will not run on NetView V5.1.

You are mistaken. NetView does not now have, nor has it ever had, a
daemon called "sfevents". I don't know what it is, or where you got it
from, but we do not ship it.
I suggest you look at the ovsuf file in /usr/OV/conf and find out what
the full path is to the binary executable which this daemon references.
That may tell you who owns it.
By the way, NetView 5.0 is not supported on Framework 3.6. You should
have installed NetView 5.1
