Hi all,

We are currently running Netview 4.1.2 on AIX 4.1.5, with various third party
products, like CiscoWorks 4.0.

Pressure is coming from the management to move from AIX to Solaris.
I wanted to have some comments on the difference between Netview
(5.1 of course) on AIX and Solaris. Are there difference in functionnality?
Is the AIX version more stable (is it still developped first on AIX and then
ported to the other platforms?).

Regarding CiscoWorks in the past, and CW2000 now, AIX releases have
always been behind the Solaris ones. So on this side I think the Solaris move
would be not a bad idea.

Also, is there a hope to take my Netview databases from AIX to Solaris, or
should I have to start map building all over again (I am aware there is also
here a version problem: I have currently 4.1 databases, and if I install a
Solaris
version it would be 5.1).

Many thanks in advance for all your input,

Thierry
