Hmm - when I go to Options->Event Cofinguration: trap Customization...

I click on netView6000 (.1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.3) and scroll throug the list till I
see "IBM_DUPIP_EV" - 58982415... click on Modify and set it to "Log Only" or
whatever...

If you are not seeing this in this GUI, try searching for 58982415 in
/usr/OV/conf/C/trapd.conf - if it is not there and you are getting these traps,
there is something quite strange going on!

Subject: NetView Trap #58982415

[ NetView for NT ]

I continue to have this particular trap:

Nameserver returned duplicate name nnnnnnn (yy.yy.yy.yy) for address
zz.zz.zz.zz; interface zz.zz.zz.zz will be deleted.

nnnnnnn is the computer's Netbios name, registered in the WINs
database.
yy.yy.yy.yy is the computer's incoming IP address.
zz.zz.zz.zz is the old IP address that WINs knows nnnnnnn by from it's
earlier registration in the WINs database.

This is NetView Enterprise Trap #58982415. It is not listed in Trap
Settings, Netview Enterprise, 1.3.6.1.4.1.2.6.3.
Where can I make Trap changes to this Trap #? I either want to discontinue
logging it or else find out how to
remedy the Netbios name duplications with WINs.

Thanks for any attention to this problem.

Larry
