Hi,
follow Jeanie's question, I've got another one concerning CiscoWorks 2000.
I've had CWSI Campus 2.2, Traffic Manager, VLAN Director as well as
RSM (2.0) installed on AIX 4.3.2 with NetView 5.1.1. Everything works fine
except that dmgtd.aix process and its subs eating up almost all CPU
resources (92%) The gluser and run queue keep high, which make the
system fairly slow. The polling interval is kept as default, 1800 for
discovery and 900 for regular polling. The number of routers monitored
is less then 20.
My question is, is this normal, or the maintenance releases addresses this
issue, or there are parameters that I could tune.
Thanks.
Best Regards
Geoffrey Cheng

Hi Jeanie,
We are running on AIX 4.2 and Netview 5.1.1 with CiscoWorks 2000, (CWSI Campus,
Traffic Manager, VLAN Director), and RSM. Everything works fine.
There are several maintenance releases out for CiscoWorks 2000 and RSM 2.0.
They bring CWSI to 2.3 and
RSM to 2.1 and I strongly recommend that you apply Maintenance release 1 after
the initial install. You will save yourself a lot of time and aggravation.
There are several other things you should be aware of also. Works 2000 (ANI)
and RSM have their own polling engines and now work partially independant of
Netview.

Subject: CiscoWorks 2000
Hi all,
I'll be installing on CiscoWorks 2000 (CWSI 2.2 & Resource Manager 2.0)
on AIX 4.1.5 running Netview 5.1. From the Cisco documentation,
Resource Manager runs on Netview 4.1.
Can anyone confirm if CiscoWorks 2000 can run on Netview 5.1?
Thanks in advance.
cheers,
Jeanie
