So are you seeing any intervening messages/traps between the "connected" and
"disconnected" ones?
Notice that the event command lists the source as "d"  for "demo".    The ones
you mentioned before had the typical netmon "n".  I forgot to mention last time
you often get these (the "n" ones) doing a demand poll.  Could that be what you
you are seeing?

I was just looking at the trapd.log and noticed them (this goes back to
the mlm node up/down event)
