I don't think you can do this. If you did find a way, you would
be interfering with Netview in a pretty fundamental way.
The design intent is that the map shows you the current status,
and the events display shows the history of that status. Most
people don't bother, but the events display can be used as
sort of a 'to-do' list. You can review the events as they come
across, and clear off the ones you have 'handled', or acknowledged.
The trapd.log gives you the history of all of the ups and downs if you
are interested in post-processing them.
I think most people are looking for ways to NOT be notified of
those short outages that are probably false alarms - by increasing
the timeout on the status polls.

I am not sure if this can be done, but when a critical event occurs and is
then cleared, we would like the device icon to stay red and not change until
acknowledged. An example of this could be a device going down for a short
period, so the device icon changes to red then back to green.
Any ideas?
