Hello All.

I have been collecting some snmp data via Netview's snmpCollect facility.

Specifically, every 30 seconds I collect (from a server interface)
ifInOctets and ifOutOctets.

My question is this....

The value which I get for each query, every 30 seconds, is this the number
of octets/sec at that point in time or is it an average over the last 30
seconds ??

>From what I have been reading, it sounds as if it is the octets/second at
that point in time of the snmpget and not an average of any type. Is this
correct?

Also, we are using Nways Remote Monitor to do some performance monitoring.
Do RMON agents do averaging for their values??

Any information appreciated.

Sincerely,

Gord Michaels.
