Hello All.

I have a question about how to properly compute the amount of paging space
required for my Netview Server...

Here is what I have installed..

AIX 4.2.1
Netview 5.1 (recommends 128 Mb memory minimum)
Framework 3.6 (?)
Nways 2.0 (recommends 768 Mb of memory)

Each of these applications has its own memory requirements. My questions
are:

1. Can the total memory requirement be determined by simply adding the
memory requirements of each individual application??

2. In terms of paging space, I have been using the formula:

Paging Space (in MB) = 512 + (memory - 256) * 1.25

Does this formula take into consideration all applications, not just
Netview, or is this formula only good for Netview?

Basically, I have 2GB of memory, by the formula then, I should have
2692 Mb of memory, does this sound right?

Basically, when determining paging space, is it based on the amount of
memory you have (i.e. formula) OR the apps you have installed?

Any info appreciated.

Sincerely,

Gord Michaels.
