If the problem is the '|' (pipe, shorthand 'or') in a size description
field,
then the workaround is to edit the mib file and replace the pipe with
a comma, since Netview does not pay any attention to the size field.
This is APAR IY05289, at least on Unix. Not sure about NT.

It is normal for the mib loader to use all available resources when
loading. The bigger the file, the harder it works. So that may be
unrelated to the problem.

Hello,
The reason for the trouble is the last specified item in this MIB, this
item
contains a SMI version 2 field(MAX-ACCESS).
Specified in the header of the MIB is:  FROM RFC1155-SMI;
which is vers. 1.? or so.
So in fact it is a MIB problem.
I think that NV's reaction (99% CPU load) is not correct.
