Sadly, the GUI is the only way to do this.  I suppose it *might* be
possible to dig deep into the NetView API and do it, but noone has
really had enough of a reason to invest the time to develop something
like this.

We have over four times as many branches, and we are doing the same
thing.  Its a painstaking process, but if you take good backups, you
only have to do it once.

We actually use the loadhosts command to load the devices in a
controlled fashion, then make the map changes as we go along.  We have
found this to be more reliable than using autodiscovery.  But it does
require us to know in advance that we have accounted for all of the
devices.
