Steve, I installed that Netview, and unless you really messed it up, I
don't
think you are going to get it bionic by doing it over, if I do say so
myself. So
you just want to change the IP address and rediscover the network and
redo the maps, right? I mean, there is a fair amount of customization and
third-party installs aside from the map, so you are not planning to wipe
the
box. (Step 1, make a backup)

Here's my checklist for changing the IP address when the Netview
Server is on the TMR Server (your case, according to my notes):

#Change the ip address in Tivoli Framework:
odadmin odlist change_ip <newaddr> FALSE
ovstop nvsecd
smitty tcpip, change the address (move cable, etc)
odadmin shutdown
change /etc/hosts, resolv.conf, snmpd.conf, etc
odadmin start

#Test the change
odadmin odlist - should show the box as the TMR server
tivoli - start the desktop, should work.
show properties of the managed node - should show new address.

#Change the ip address in Netview
ovstart nvsecd - minimum startup
/usr/OV/service/reset_ci
ovstart
open map
delete and rediscover node for management station, or demandpoll.

#Test the change
Check that the node appears correctly in IP map, Managers map.
Check for errors in nettl log.
If MLM installed, check mlm group, topology, and smconfig.

If you don't like the map, flush it and rediscover.

Cordially,

Same box, same name. Do want to blow away the databases and maps to get a
clean start. Anyone know how?
