TEC is discussed on the Tivoli list, not on the NetView list.

Subject: New TEC Install, won't start

Hi all,

in trying to install TEC, i get this weird problem when I try to start it where
it says: "Could not connect to RDBMS server to access database TBRJTEC00"

Now:
- TEC is installed on the same machine as NetView and is a managed node
- the Sybase database resides on another machine
- both machine can ping each other
- the wgetrim tec command works on the TEC machine and gives back the correct
info
- the database is setup properly ( use, sp_dboption, sp_spaceused all work ok on
Sybase)
- all the proper icons are showing up in the TMR Console
- no problem came up during the installation

But:
- the deamons will not start (ps -ef |grep tec) on the TEC machine

Thanks for any help....
