With NetView Unix version:
- rulesets provide some amount of event correlation
- icon acknowledgement is possible (OpenView had this feature in it
sprevious versions but somehow got eliminated
in the recent versions)
- collections enable to group objects on the map (smart sets
in NT versions do the same)
- good IPX support
- fair amount of SNA management - in general nonIP topology management

With OpenView (I have dealt with unix versions only)
- decent filtering scheme for discovery, topology and maps available
- reasonable backup and restore scripts are provided with the recent versions
- better switch management is still awaited (by June 2000!!!)
- handles level 2 discovery better
