Try putting "set -x" as the first executable line of your script and see what
happens. It should trace to ovaction.log. Then you can tell if the script is
being called once or twice.

Subject: [NV-L] ovaction and duplicate mail

Hi at all .

I have a problem with ovaction:

I have configured a Trap doing this:

from the GUI I select Event Configuration -> Trap Customization: SNMP ->
Cisco 1.3.6.1.4.1.9
        -> Cisco_Link_Down  :
in this window I select Command for Automati Action:
        /FCscript/NV6000/ac4Idown $A $2 $3 $5 &         (it's my script)

I suppose when a Cisco Link Down trap arrives to my nv6000, my script
elaborate it and send me a notification
by mail.

Unfortunately, I receive mail, but duplicate, even if in trapd.log I have
only a Cisco Link Down Trap
and in ovaction.log I see only a single called to my script.

Where is the problem? my script is a simple korn shell script.

This is log from Cisco Router (hostname giongosede):
