All you can be told in a public forum is that NetView development is aware
of the need for SNMP V3 and are actively pursuing it.
To learn anything else you would have to see your Tivoli/IBM marketing rep,
sign a nondisclosure agreement, and talk with development directly.
That is the standard IBM way of doing these things until a public
announcement is made.

Subject: [NV-L] SNMP version III
SNMP version III is starting to make the scene with the upgrading of
our Cisco devices to the IOS 12.0.3. SNMP version III allows for the
community names to be encrypted which provides better security for your
environment.
Netview currently ONLY supports SNMP Version I but does allow manual
polling of SNMP Version 2 objects. I want to know if NetView intends on
supporting SNMP V3 this way or will the NetView been rewritten to include
support for V2 and V3 support in the near future?
