RFI Polling Suppression

The RFI document shipped with NetView
(/usr/OV/doc/RuterFaultIsolation.htm) states that
"During a partition, all polling, ICMP and SNMP,
is suppressed to non-router nodes in Unreachable
subnets".
My question is, how does this work with Mid Level
Managers performing the status polling ?
Is the MLM reconfigured via SNMP or does this only
work if netmon is doing the polling?

Is there a more technically detailed RFI document
available?
