The only thing I can think if is perhaps you tried to cut, and cut again
before
pasting? That would overwrite the cut buffer. When you cut and paste, make
sure you Cut (From THIS submap) and then Paste, and no talking in between!
To recover from this, it should work to close the map, ovstop netmon, and
ovtopofix -a. If you have more than one map ('default' being the name of
the
first map), be sure to read the man page for ovtopofix.
At 6.01 there should be no code problems causing the the behavior you
describe.
Do make sure that your location.conf file is not too long (<1000 lines is
the limit
I remember), and check the location.log file in /usr/OV/log for any errors
or clues.

Subject: [NV-L] Objects disappear during cut and paste operation
Hi, I am Luigino Perazzolo and i work in Telecom Italia. I'm using
Netview 6.0.1 on AIX 4.3.3 to manage a large network (about 1000
routers).
- No problem encountered during discovery process.
- I have defined some locations, using location.conf file.
- When i try to move (CUT and PASTE) a group of router objects from the
main map (IP Internet) to my location map, randomly some routers are
not moved to destination map and disappeared from the source map too.
- Anyway the router object still exists in the Topology database so
will not be discovered again and I'm not able to visualize the object in
any
map.
Is it the Netview bug or my actions are not correct???
Thank You.
