Well, I am not sure how you changed this. If you edited trapd.conf rather
than used xnmtrap, then trapd does not know about your change. You can get
trapd to reload the trapd.conf file by sending him the following event
Just type this in from the command line.
     event -e FMTCHG
and when trapd gets that, he will re-load. This is exactly what xnmtrap
does when you click the OK button before exit.
If you are certain the message has been changed and this still doesn't
work, try restarting trapd.

Also, remember that I was talking about NetView Interface Up / Interface
down trapd. Those are 58916866 and 58916867. Any other traps will require
you to find out what other variables are available for display and change
your log message accordingly.

James,

Thanks for the information. I have changed to $4 instead of $3 through trap
customization. But still the same message text is displayed in Event window
display. This text message suppose to be forwarded to TSD which in turn
lodge the calls. could you please help me?

regards,
varadhu
