I have discovered strange behavior when sending a
string in an SNMPtrap variable.
I am sending "5 x 7am-5pm ABC DEF Hotline" in
variable 6.
The NetView Event Pop-Up displays the message
exactly as sent in Var6.
I have configured the T/EC Slot Map as indicated:
Slot Name: SNMP_contact
Slot Value: $V6
This is received at T/EC reception log with some
(but not all) of the spaces stripped out!
"5x7am-5pm ABC DEF Hotline"
This was unexpected. Work around is to quote the
Slot Value.
Slot Value: "$V6"
This sends the SNMP_contact ($V6) string as as
received.
