Are you starting the GUI with the "netview" command so that you get the
X11R5 libraries?
Detaching works fine on 6.0.2 and AIX 4.3.1, first time, every time. Just
click on the bar that says "Control desk" with the middle mouse button and
drag it.
So if there is a problem, it is an AIX one, not a NetView one.

I do use eXceed (Hummingbird) and thought at the beginning this was the
problem,
bacause I had the same problem on several PC's. But when the problem also
showed up on
an AIX workstation I realised the problem was somewhere else. One thing
that makes me somewhat confused about this is that it works perfectly
alright if I try "detaching" on another older NetView server (NetView
5.1/AIX 4.2?)
