Windows has its own rules because the installation process has to conform
to the Microsoft Install Wizard.

Subject: Re: [NV-L] Upgrading NetView 5.x to 6.02
James,
I did a brand new installation on NT2000 (SP1) with the 6.0.2 CD-ROM and it
works.
Are you telling me it shouldn't (or am I missing something)?
Alan.

6.0.2 is not a new version of NetView. It is a maintenance release which
must be installed on top of 6.0.
So you must migrate to 6.0, then apply 6.0.2.
All your customization will be preserved if you follow the instructions.
You use the sersetup menu to back up all NetView data first, then you
de-install 5.1, then you install 6.0 as a Migration.

Subject: [NV-L] Upgrading NetView 5.x to 6.02
To upgrade from NetView 5.1 to 6.0.2, is it necessary to first upgrade to
NetView 6.0 and then to 6.02? Or is it possible to upgrade straight to
6.0.2?
Also, will a custom database and maps be upgraded automatically or will
they have to be rebuilt?
