SNMP polling can be specified for a class of devices (by oid)
in the oid_to_type file with the P flag. And there is a good table
in the Inst & Config manual, chapter 7, regarding discovery settings.
The SNMP settings are not mentioned since the manual was not
updated since that feature became available, but that setting has
no bearing on discovery. The table still applies.

Subject: [NV-L] Controlling SNMP status polling
Is there any way to specify that a node should be status polled via SNMP
other than the seed file, or is that *the* way of doing it?
If that is the only way, does this work if discovery is turned off?....i.e.
does Netview read/use the seed file when discovery is turned off (which is
the way we are running)? The doc seems a bit unclear on this, and we are
trying to determine how to force SNMP polling for nodes added via
loadhosts.
Thanx!
