The list of parents, when you are in a node submap, includes those
submaps in which the node appears. The node appears in that
segment submap because the subnet mask for that particular
interface puts it in that submap. Occasionally Netview gets it wrong,
for instance when snmp access is not available, or when it finds out
about a node from the arp cache of another node with an incorrect
mask. But usually when Netview puts a node in an unexpected
network it is because the device is configured uncorrectly.
Check the configuration of that server with:
Monitor....Network Configuration...Addresses.
If the results show that it belongs in network 172.23.56.0 rather than
172.23.0.0, then delete it and rediscover it. If the results show that it
does
indeed have an incorrect mask, ask the box owner to correct the mask.
Then delete it and rediscover it.

Cordially,
