Subject: Re: [NV-L] Hiding R/W Map from Web Interface
The users of the web interface will be given a choice of all running
maps, whether they are opened r/o or r/w. They cannot do anything
to any of them other than acknowledge, and they can acknowledge
whether they are r/o or r/w maps.
The support for that access comes from the maptreeserver process
that is started with each map. That is controlled by maptreeserver.reg
in /usr/OV/registration/C. It contains a command line with the flags
-Initial -Restart -Shared. If you remove the -Initial, it will not start
when
the map is started. If you remove the -Restart, it will not be
automatically
restarted after you kill it. For a particular user to have different
registration
files in effect, you could do a couple of things. You could make copies
and give them different permissions. Or you could copy the directory,
and set the environment variable to point to it.
export OVwRegDir=/u/user/registration_dir
For what it's worth, I believe that the ability to share the view of the
r/w map is the most wonderful feature of the web client, primarily because
it makes my favorite Smartset, Problem Nodes, useful for all operators.
Cordially,

Hello list,
I've been searching the ListServe archives for an answer to this question,
but with no success. I'm sure someone has encountered this before. How do
I
prevent users of the Web Interface from seeing the Read/Write map?
Thanks,
