Is it possible that your NetView is picking up your VSAT network from
something that you are managing? Did they ever fix the VSAT SNMP agent
so that it properly built MIB2 for NetView to read? NetView may be
picking up that network as 'hints' from some device's arp cache. However
if there is no route to that network from your NetView box then it can't
ping them...so they remain as hints until netmon/ovtopmd clears them from
the database. However, just as they are cleared netmon might read that
arp cache again and rebuild the hints again. I will let James Shanks tell
me if netmon does not remove hints that it cannot resolve or add. This
might be a plausible explanation for your objects increasing and
decreasing.
