Only if you choose later to go back to the Framework. If you install
without it, and then you decide you want it, you will have to re-install.
You would do a backup first to preserve what you had and then re-install as
an upgrade using the Framework. There is no way to "connect" the Framework
to an already-installed NetView that I know of.

Yes, migrations from 5.1 direct to 7.1 are supported. You do it the same
old way. You make a backup of your existing data and then you do an
upgrade install.
