This is a multipart message in MIME format. I am not certain how this bears on your original problem, but the only way attribute 2 in one of NetView's traps could be an IP Address is if your name resolution is failing. And since the IP Address is NOT the Selection Name of the object in your object database (it's hostname will be), then the smartset query fails also.
