Hello Jeff -

I assumed you were using UNIX because you did not specify a version or
platform and the bulk of the users on the list are UNIX.

I don't believe that the NT version support using an alternate port the
way UNIX does, which is why you find no mention of it.
The UNIX code is much more customizable than is the NT code. If you
think this option should be made available in the NT version, then please
contact Support and have them open a Product Enhancement Request on your
behalf.
Sorry but I cannot do even that for you.

Thanks for the response.

Unfortunately I forgot to mention I am running on the Windows platform,
which may make a difference. I cant find xnmsnmpconf, just snmpconf.exe

I have been able to check on a Unix system, and yes there is the option to
change the port there. Interesting that it doesn't seem to be in the
Windows version.

Perhaps a quick edit of the underlying conf file, ovsnmp.conf? The
comments at the top don't mention the port.

Regards
Jeff

Try setting it in xnmsnmpconf. Both netmon and snmpCollect use that
information.

I have 1 device that I want to monitor/manage, that for security reasons I
suppose, is set up to use port 260 instead of 161.

Is there any way that I can configure this within NetView?

Jeff
