netmon disconnecting

I'm on 6.0.2 on W2K SP1.

I have modified the traps so that any Enterprise-Netview Trap-FatalErrors
send me an email via an SMTP server I have installed on the same box.

So far today I have received the following message:
     netmon probably disconnected from trapd
about 20 times.

I've checked in the event log and, sure enough, the alerts are there.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?  What should I check?
