Thomas,
sorry but I have never setup or even seen an installation with
"several hundred remote (NT) MLMs".
Anybody else?
Kind regards

Do you see any problem having NT based MLMs reporting to a NetView AIX
system? I have several hundred remote NT MLMs in smartsets, but the APM
freezes up when initializing. I had a PMR, but I need a second opinion.
The NetView server is a M-80 RS\6000 with 4GB memory, plenty of DASD. All
MLMs are in the SmartSets and object database. C5d is stable, until I
initialize APM. I can config individually using smconfig(tedious). I can
try running snmpset scripts to all(need proper oid(s)). Can you recommend
anything?

Paul,
check out the "mlmRemoteCollect" and "smconvert" utilities.
Both of these run on the NetView server.
The first one will transfer the MLM collect log to the NetView server.
The second one converts the MLM collect log into the familiar
snmpCollect format.
You can then run "nvColToSQL" against the data files to converts them
from the flat file format to the relational database tables.
(to use "nvCol2SQL" you have to configure RIM and install the
NetView database components).
Hope this helps.
Kind regards

Is anyone using MLM to perform collections and then storing the collections
in an Oracle database? If so, how are you accomplishing it?
Thank You
