That did the trick!

I am still somewhat confused as to why that worked. I created a smartset
for that IP address. When I clicked "OK" Netview returned that there
were no objects with that IP address would I like to create the smartset
anyway. I answered yes, went into that smartset and there was the server
I
was looking for. I deleted it and Netview rediscovered it.

I guess my question is, how did the Smartset find it?

Here's a trick that I use.
Create a SmartSet specifically for that object.
Then open the SmartSet and delete it.

I have used this at sites where stopping netmon and running ovtopofix was
not an option without a maintenance window.

Netview 7.1 for NT

I have an object that I can not find on my map and I can not force
Netview to discover it ( I put it in the seedfile ).
If I run "ovtopodump hostname" I see an entry for that object. How do I
remove this object from the
database so Netview can rediscover it or how do I force it to show up on
the map?

Thanks in advance for your help!
Brad
