Jesus,
You should be able to do this with a ruleset and a little ingenuity.....
Create a ruleset that runs in the background that fires on your specific
incoming trap. This ruleset should have an Action that runs a
shellscript. The shellscript takes variables from the trap, representing
the machine with the problem ($A) and the trap variable representing the
ifIndex ($1 if that is your only varbind). In the shellscript, lets say
your hostname $A becomes $1 and your ifIndex variable is $2. You need to
do an snmpget from ($1) that gets the MIB2 variable you want - I guess
this is .....mib-2.ip.ipAddrTable.ipAddrEntry."$2" - you use the original
ifIndex variable as the instance into the ipAddressTable. You may need a
spot of awk or cut to just get the interface address parsed out of the
response from SNMP get.

Then your script generates a NEW trap that actually has the data in it
that you want. Customise your original trap to be log-only if you don't
want to see it.

Best of luck,
Jane
