Paul,
Depending on the size of your database, you will get web client access
back after about 30 minutes from the time you take the read/write map away
from netviewd.
Try it in your lab.....netview -dconsole than start the
webclient.....you will see the map framework but no icons/data....let it sit
and eventually it will come up.
Regards,
Bill

Brian,
netviewd(the web server) takes the read-write map for itself, if you
have it registered.
If you want the read-write map at the console, use "netview -dconsole=
"
and it will you
the read-write map, but web client access will be suspended. Once you
close the map
started with dconsole, the web client will be back in business.
