When I suspect a problem with nvevents or nvserverd I do a simple test.
I use NV 7.1.1 on AIX 4.3.3.
Go to Server Setup in the Administration Menu. Select Diagnose then Send
event to trap daemon.
Fill in the event with "Hello". You should see an event in the Control Desk
within a few seconds.
If that is NOT the case, check trapd -T (trapd daemon tracing). You may be
receiving more traps/second than you realize and this will seriously delay
the display of traps in the "Event Browser".
