If it
is a cisco device try using this in the router
configuration:
no snmp trap
link-status
This
prevents the Cisco IOS from sending link up / link down traps for this
interface. I code this on all of our PPP routers to prevent the topology
thrashing from users logging in via PPP. This statement is coded on each
interface you want to supress the traps from.
