processes will not start
These are from a 7.1.1 test system but the only thing in the conf file
which is customized is the name of the TEC server , ferrari, and the port.
I included the backup file so you can see that too. I used the standard
tecconfig.bat tool to configure it. My exe is the non-TME version, but
there is no difference in the lrf, only in the conf file.
If you cannot get it working, then you may have to edit the
tecad_nv6k.err file and change the error output to some file from
"\dev\null" so that errors get written somewhere where you can read them.
If that's no help, then I'd call Support.

James,
Thanks for the input. I copied the ovsuf file you sent me and all the
processes are running except tecad_nv6k. However, I'm not getting any
errors
when trying to start tecad_nv6k. Just showing up as NOT RUNNING. I was
wondering if you could forward me a copy of your tecad_nv6k.lrf and
tecad_nv6k.conf files so I can compare them to mine.
Thanks,
Scott

Scott -
Someone has been fooling around on your system and importing things from
UNIX to your NT system which cannot work there.
This is a no-no. The products are different. It appears to me that your
ovsuf file is corrupt. I hope you have a backup. If not, then perhaps
you should re-install. No telling what else is messed up. But if it
will help you out, I will attach a base copy. If you have further
problems, I would call Support.
Your first problem is that there is no ems_sieve_agent for the Windows NT
product, nor pmd, so that is your first error. These daemons only exist
on UNIX. So this would be a UNIX version of the ovsuf file and not the NT
one.
Your second is that there is something else wrong with your ovsuf file,
and ovspmd cannot get past it. Probably an error introduced by bringing
it over from UNIX. Here's a base NT version with the tecad already added.
Try this.

Subject: [nv-l] ems_sieve_agent and tecad_nv6k processes
will
not start
hello listers,
Environment: Windows NT 4.0 sp 6a
Framework 3.7.1
TEC 3.7.1
NetView 7.1
First, my ems_sieve_agent process is showing as UNSTARTABLE. When I try
to
start it manually I receive the following error:
ems_sieve_agent: dependcy pmd not found
Also, I'm attempting to integrate NetView with TEC. Created the
tecad_nv6k.exe file by copying tecad_nv6k_tme.exe file. Registered the
/usr/ov/lrf/tecad_nv6k.lrf file with NetView by using the ovaddobj
command.
(Basically I followed the directions as stated in the User's guide).
When trying to start the tecad_nv6k.lrf file receive the following:
D:\usr\ov\bin\ovspmd.exe: /usr/ov/conf/ovsuf: object manager
OVs_YES_START:
no executable:
invalid initial start flag -cd
Here what my tecad_nv6k.lrf file looks like:
tecad_nv6k:/usr/OV/bin/tecad_nv6k:
OVs_YES_START:trapd,ovwdb,ovtopmd,nvcold:-c
/usr/OV/conf/tecad_nv6k.conf:OVs_WELL_BEHAVED:120:
I've tried rebooting the stop and restarting the process several times and
rebooting the server but have had no luck.
Thanks in advance for the help
