What is the best way to handle name resolution for Network devices?
1. Do you use /etc/hosts ?
Do you have all router interfaces defined ?
Is the order of these interfaces important in your environment?
2. Do you use DNS ?
What platform do you use for DNS ? (AIX, Linux, Microsoft, etc)
Do you have reverse records for all router interfaces
    Who maintains your DNS
What tools do you use to maintain it ?
Is your network equipment in different or the same zones as workstations?
3. Do you use both / neither ?

I am in search of some "best practice" advise.

Thanks,
Don Davis
