The syslog trap, enterprise 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.41.2, generic 6, specific 1,
has these
varbinds:
1) msg facility
2) msg severity
3) msg name
4) msg text
5) msg timestamp
You need to add the oids for the syslog trap varbinds to the oid file
you are using on Netview for NT with the tecad adapter. You can get the
oids out of the MIB file for the syslog mib. Then you can refer to them
in your rules on the TEC, and in the cds file that you use to map
oids to slots, slots defined in a baroc file on the TEC. There are
samples for other Cisco traps in the files delivered with TEC, I believe.
To see what these varbinds are yourself, it helps to actually format
them in Netview, if you have not already; if you use the default format,
$*, you will see the oid, datatype, and value for each varbind. If the
mib is also loaded, the oids will be translated into words so you know
what each means.

Hi List,
Netview 6.03 W2K,
I need send some events (cisco syslog traps) to my TEC server, I made this
executing a perl script when the trap is received by the Netview Server,
but I cant send the trap description.
I send the agent-addr with the $A parameter and it work.
Anyone knows what is the trap description parameter ?
Thanks
