This is not coming from Netview. It is coming from a script that is
scheduled in
cron on your system. Probably someone has set this up to do something
useful
like backup data colllection files, or age them off, or dump them into a
relational
database. There are a couple of approaches you can take, and you should
talk
to the person who set this up, or perhaps your Unix system administrator.

options:
1) In the script itself, suppress the error message
2) In the crontab schedule, redirect output to a log file. It only goes to
mail because
it is not directed elsewhere. I generally append such output to
/usr/OV/log/crontab.log
(which means you will have to manage that file instead of managing the
mail)

If you do 'crontab -l' you can see a list of things scheduled in cron.
Perhaps you
can tell from that listing which scripts the messages might be from.

Good Morning Leslie!!!
Perhaps would you know how I can stop NetView from sending me these
messages? Where do I need to go to fix it?

ls: 0653-341 The file /usr/OV/databases/snmpCollect/*.1 does not exist.

Thanks!
Darlene

It is possible that the device is refusing to respond to requests that it
considers to be too large. Netview will try to get everything at once.
You can tell it to ask in smaller requests. In the daemon configuration
for snmpCollect, there is a maxPDU field. Try setting that to 50.

You say you ask for them on different time cycles, but for the first
get, they will all occur at once, and also if there are multiple
interfaces,
Netview will get all of those at once. So try the maxpdu approach.
Netview will break it up into smaller requests.

Hi there?

I have a question,

I am using Netview for Unix 7.1 and OS is Solaris 7
Using SNMPCollect, I want to monitor interfaces Performance.

The Items are "IfInOctets,IfOutOctets,IfInUcastPkts,ifOUtUcastPkts.." All
of them are 8 items.
And I gathering each items for a different time.for instance :
IfInOctets=>8min,IfOutOctets=>10min..and so on.

Here comes the trouble..
As you see berow,SnmpCol.trace shows Some devices dosn't reply some item.
SnmpCol.trace
==============================================================================

1] 12?y 20 19:16:10 2002 : Mgt_switch doesn't reply to a 240 object PDU,
but responds to sysUpTime. Be sure SNMP timeouts are not
set too small (SNMP interval: 12.00s retry: 8).
1] 12?y 20 19:36:10 2002 : Mgt_switch doesn't reply to a 144 object PDU,
but responds to sysUpTime. Be sure SNMP timeouts are not
set too small (SNMP interval: 12.00s retry: 8).
Ed 12?y 21 19:12:10 2002 : MabukB doesn't reply to a 132 object PDU,
but responds to sysUpTime. Be sure SNMP timeouts are not
set too small (SNMP interval: 4.00s retry: 5).
==============================================================================

Exactly,

IfOutUcastPkts
IfOutNUcastPkts

are not gathered some devices(exactly, only in MabukB,Mgt_switch,MabukA)

I tried to configure SNMP configuration of SNMP interval to 12.00s retry 8
But this situation continues...

The number of Nodes is 10 and The number of Interfaces is about 150.

I'm looking for reply to resolve this problem and wanna to know the reason
..

Thanks In Advance...Sincerely..

Merry Christmas!!! Earth!!
