I usually don't chime in much, but FYI...

When we have used multiple RW maps in the past, it caused nothing but
problems. Once we removed the additional maps, all the problems stopped.
When you call support, they inform you that having multiple maps is a bad
idea.

Just some thoughts before you implement this.

Dave,

Have you ever used ovw -copymap before? I just tried it, but it duplicates
all of my nonip custom objects on the copied maps. In other words, on every
submap that contains one of my nonip objects, the objects displays in
duplicate on the submap. Also, when I click on it to select the object, it
automatically selects both icons. Any ideas??

Thanks,

Jeff

Jeff,

The man for the "ovw" command says to use the "-copymap" option.

       ovw [-ro | -rw] [-copymap "mapname1 mapname2..." | -rmmap
"mapname1mapname2..."] [-map map_name]

HTH,
Dave

default map

Is there a way (command line or code) to copy the default map to different
name? I need to have a max of 3 users have read-write access to the same
map. The only way I can think of to do this is have each user have their
own separate map. All of these maps should look the same, so I just want to
be able to copy the default map to a different name for each user. The only
way I know how to do this is through the GUI (File-New Map). Is there
another way? Are there any problems that may be associated with running 3
different maps rather that 3 instances of the default map? Please let me
know.

Thanks,

Jeff
