Yes. :-)
Well, with v2 anyway. v3 still seems to have some time. I've not yet
run into a device that speaks v3 only in its alerting.
Those who think standards support is important (!) should press on
this through the appropriate channels of enhancement requests and
through your sales contacts to get the requirements pushed back to
Tivoli with the appropriate priority.
I sure know my group is beating on them for this because it's of
increasingly large concern to us as we see more and more devices that
only send traps in v2 format...and that the MLM can't do anything with
v2 is become a Major Problem. These same agents are also causing
issues with data collection, as mentioned earlier in this thread.
