Is the issue that the ping and demand poll options in the NetView GUI
are usable/available to you?     If so, it could be a map isue in
which the map doesn't think it's  a device that can be pinged or
demand polled.  I could imagine this happening if name resolution
returned something one way, and then when you fired up DNS, the
resolved name came back differently and confused the topology
database. 

Without further info, I'd suggest deleting the node and rediscovering
it with the name resolution set the way you want it.
