Could be. I have no idea. Linux distributions is not my area of
expertise.
That's why I suggested you call Support. If RH8 isn't supported for
7.1.2, then I'd advise you to choose another one.

Hi, there is a great chance that the cause is because i use RH8 instead of
RH7 ?
Thanks

I'll only comment on number 1.
"memory Fault" means something died unexpectedly because it tried to
reference memory it did not own.
If you see "Memory Fault" then you might want to check /usr/OV/PD/cores
and see if there is a core file there. It's easy with the "du" command
"du /usr/OV/PD/cores " will list all the subdirectories
and how much space the files in them take up.
Normally they should all be empty. If they aren't then you need to call
support, because a core is not something you are likely to be able to
solve by yourself.

Subject: [nv-l] Netview 7.1.2 problems on Linux RH8
Hi all, i have some problem with Netview 7.1.2
First, just to tell you my configuration :
Netview 7.1.2. RH8 on INTEL 450 MhZ with 396 meg of ram. The installation
has been completed normally.
Problem 1 :
Often when I execute Netview, netview never comes and when i look in the
log
:"/usr/OV/log/netview_sisauda.log" It said Memory fault (core dump)...
this seem to happen when i'm root only, when i'm a normal user it seem to
execute normally, its because i have RH8 and only 396 meg of ram ?
What can i do then if Netview need more memory, kill some other daemon ?
Problem 2 :
Netview seem only to discover my local network (ETH0), but i have PPP0E
also
but Netview seem to discover nothing about my internet PPP0E connection
even if i put the internet range of my internet provider (65.*.*.*) in the
seed file... (This is only for testing different network or subnet)
What should i check or i should i made for netview that take in charge my
local network as well that my Internet provider (PPP0E) ?
Problem 3 :
Many menu on netview don't appear : ex : when i go to option menu after i
press "Topology / status polling interval's IP" nothing appear...
Why ?, Do you think is because netview don't have enough memory and/or RH8
does'nt working very well with Netview 7.1.2 ?
Thanks for all
