I am not sure if I would call it a fault of the Cisco IOS software. I have
not really investigated this with Cisco. I took the easy route and reloaded
the router which forces a rebuild of the MIB info. When you reload the
router you should notice that the ifIndexes are not in the same order. This
is just the way the Cisco IOS rebuilds the MIB info.

Hi Alan

You are right I walked the interface and it is still there! Is this a fault
with Cisco kit and how can we get it rectified?

Thanks
Vynita

I have this same problem I think it is the way the router keeps SNMP MIB
information. Would I be correct that you are using Cisco? When you remove
the configuration for an interface the interface info is still in the MIB
tables on the router. I had to reload the router to fix the problem. Try
and snmpwalk on the interfaces MIB. If you decipher the info you will
probably still see info for the interface you have removed.

HI all

I have netview aix 7.1.2 aix 4.3.3

I have a router where the serial0 was configured with an ip address but
serial0 had sub interfaces serial0.1 also with ip addr configured. etc

The configuration on the router has been changed so that serial0 has no
ipaddress only the sub interface do.

I demand polled the router but nothing changed the serial0 still appears on
the map and also on ovtopodump, also in the demandpoll output it is still
listing the ip address - why?

The dump says that the config polled occurred when I did the demandpoll,
why
has the map not updated ( I have Readwrite)

P.S. What documentation is available for Netview 7.1..?
I can only find the release notes on the web.

Thanks
Vynita
