Just a word of caution when you install / update NetView 7.1.4. There have always been some Data Collec\tion samples shipped but they have been suspended. With 7.1.4, there's a whole bunch that are live and collecting from install point. The release notes say that they are only against the Routers and the RMON SmartSets but my upgraded box is collecting ifOutUcastPkts every hour from *.*.*.*

If you don't know this has changed, on a big network, you could have lots more SNMP traffic than you expect and you could blow away your /usr/OV filesystem space (more reason for putting /usr/OV/databases/snmpCollect on a separate filesystem??).

The reason for the change seems to be associated with Data Warehouse which can now receive SNMP data as well as availability data.

Cheers,
Jane
