Not exactly correct:
The location,conf file is used when a new map is created. If you have an
existing map and then create or update the location.conf, objects will not
be moved into their new locations. However when you create a new map, the
NetView database is re-read and the map is created according to the rules
specified in the location.conf.
Auto layout is a feature that enables NetView to lay out the maps in the
way it sees fit. If auto layout is off, you do get a new objects area from
which you can drag nodes to wherever you want on the submap

When Auto layout is off for the IP Internet Map the devices are not placed
according to the Location.conf file. Is this right? And if I turn on Auto
layout will it send the proper devices to the proper holding points?
